2 – ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
UNEP is giving support to the Brazilian Government
for promoting sustainable patterns of consumption and production during the
FIFA 2014 World Cup Games. This includes actions towards the promotion of
sustainable tourism in Brazil and the preparation of a special version of the
UNEP Green Passport Campaign for 2014. Given that, the sustainable tourism
clerk will give support for the effective execution of UNEP world cup
activities, mainly through communications management, maintenance of records,
preparation of documents and correspondence, organization of events, among
other tasks.
3 – FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
Under overall UNEP Sustainable Consumption and
Production Officer supervision and World Cup team direct guidance, the clerk
will:
Assist the UNEP World Cup team in gathering of
relevant data and information for the elaboration of documents and analysis;
Collect background information and contribute to
the preparation of technical reports, project documents and working papers
mainly in the area of Sustainable Tourism;
Support in the scheduling of meetings, contact with
meetings participants and partners;
Prepare drafts of documents, correspondence,
general reports and overview registry;
Participate of meetings and preparation of minutes
of meetings;
Support maintaining the Green Passport Campaign´s
mailing list updated;
Assist on the implementation of internal and
external strategies for communications and outreach;
Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge
sharing;
Support the organization of workshops, seminars and
missions, including travel arrangements and preparation of agendas;
Collaborate in the organization of UNEP´s Seminars
on Sustainable Tourism;
Support content generation for the Green Passport
Campaign;
Support and organize Public Relation activities
with public and private sector stakeholders;
Perform other clerical tasks as required.
4 – DELIVERY REMUNERATION SCHEDULE
The clerk will be remunerated on a monthly basis.
5 – TRAVEL
No travel is involved for this position
6 – REPORTING LINES
The recruited clerk will perform his or her duties
and responsibilities under Project Coordination and UNEP Brazil Office
supervision.
7 – IMPACT OF RESULTS
The key results have an impact on UNEP goal to
promote Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) patterns in the Tourism
sector in Brazil and worldwide, taking advantage of the 2014 World Cup Games in
the country. An oriented and efficient approach have an impact on the implementation
of the UNEP SCP strategies and therefore on the projection of the image of UNEP
in the country.

9 – RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Ongoing University Degree in Tourism, Social
Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field.
Experience:
At least 6 months of relevant experience in the
field is required, preferable in tourism agencies and/or Public Relation agency.
Experience in the usage of computers and office software package, in handling
web based management systems and knowledge of spreadsheet and database
packages.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
